There are many ways to do this, but the most simple way would be to create a movieclip, with the animation of the monster's hp bar being subtracted 1% every frame, for 100 frames. Then divide the monster's current hp by the initial hp, * 100 to get the percent, then use monsterBar.gotoAndStop(percent);

Probably not the best explanation, but you can get the 'jist' of it.

I don't like to play favorites, so I can't help you there, since I gave no aid to zhulov3rz in that area, as I wanted him to create his own, since he'll benefit from it much more later on. However I did recommend the vCam to him for scrolling the screen. You already know how to use the hitTest statement, so it shouldn't be too hard for you. I'm not sure if you know about variables yet.

pretty good for a beginner, well u need to make the backkground of the horntail transparent, becuz if i run into it, i dont even hit it yet and i get hit + the char is fulled with a white layer
