How do i change my avatar?

How do i change my avatar on the left so far mine is blank and i cant figure out how to upload anything onto it
which is kinda weird but if you could help that would be awesome!!!

when your in the forum press user control panel
then press profile and then under options press edit avatar

you dont need a avatar, thats only for ppl who know how to place a avatar
