The Ranger of Chaos-Harbinger of Doom ch4

Drake took a few steps, stumbled, then fell hard onto the deck of the ship as it collapsed around him. His last thoughts before he blacked out were "Well at least i won.'' I slowly regained consciousness at dusk. I had a pounding headache which I figured was from Tiger. I looked around to see all of the dead/unconcious people around me and instantly thought of Drake. I looked at saw the ship completely destroyed and in a heap of broken timbers and crushed steel. I ran to the hole where Drake and Tiger had taken the fight into the ship. I frantically searched the wreckage trying to find my friend. I saw him laying motionless on the deck of the ship. I ran and grabbed his body as fast as i possibly could. I got out of the ship and saw Kyrin awake at last.

"What happened here?" I'm sure that Kyrin would want an explanation of what happened to her ship, but I would leave that to Drake. Drake awoke around noon time. He whined about his pounding headache which was made worse by Kyrin for destroying the ship.

"Well I guess its time I send you on your way. But before you go take this girl with you." The girl's name was Ally. She had long dark brown hair and used crystal throwing stars as weapons. She looked in about her mid 20's.

"How do we know we can trust you?"

"Trust me or don't. I could really care less what you think of me. All you need to know is that I have a connection to Fangblade and you don't. If you want to find him you're gonna have to trust me." She had an air of command about her.

"Fine, i guess we'll take you with us. Now tell me where is Fangblade?" I fought back and forth with her for hours until she finally conceded and told me where Fangblade's hideout was.

"He has a hideout deep inside the Ruined Cathedral in SleepyWood. That's all I know I swear."

"Wait, wait, wait, wait. Did I hear that right? SleepyWood? Are you freaking kidding me? Thats where the Jr. Balrog lives! We would be killed in an instant!" I really hate Brandon's talent for stating the obvious sometimes. This fact sent everyone into hysterics. Azure calmed everyone down by firing a few shots into the air.

"Now everyone just calm down okay? There is one Jr. Balrog and there are 8 of us. Also we all are some of the most experienced people at our respective jobs. Somehow I think we'll manage. Now everyone get some rest because we head out first thing in the morning." Morning came all too quickly. I had a dream that night about the incedent that took place all those years ago. It hurts to remember those things so clearly, so vividly. We left immediatley and took the quickest path into SleepyWood. We were stopped breifly by Luke the Security Guard.

"Hey, you know what kind of stuff is in there right?" We all just gave him a look as if to say "do you really think we don't?" and continued on. We went into the dungeon and stopped at the 24 Hour shop to buy some food for rations. We easily fought our way through the dungeon until we reached the cathedral gates. Surprisingly the Balrog wasn't there. Woops, I spoke too soon. There was a deafening roar as the Balrog decended on us like a bullet from a gun. Fortunately Azure's bullets are faster. The Balrog was only breifly stunned though. This gave us time to regroup and form a plan.

"Alright Azure you stay back and summon octopi, and barrage him with bullets. Use your battle ship if you need to. Now Brandon, me, you and Alice will stay back and pelt him with hurricane and dragon pulse. Mom, you use all your most powerful lightning and ice magics. Ally stick with me and use your stars. Dad you heal where needed. Drake and Nick....well just do what you want to. Most importantly don't die."

Nick and Drake ran in a pincer formation viciously slashing away at both sides. We were all hitting dead on with our projectile attacks, but they didn't seem to affect him at all. The battle lasted on for what seemed like hours. Drake and Nick seemed to be talking about something but I couldn't hear what it was. Drake gave Nick a nod and they both headed out and kept attacking. They swayed off to the side and did the most unexpected thing possible. They both swayed out of the reach of his swipes and came back with a vicious cross slash. Blood fountained out of the Balrog's chest as the Balrog crashed to the ground. We thought he was dead but we were horribly wrong. The Balrog got up and kept on fighting. It seemed as though all hope was gone. I thought to myself "this can't be the end! i wont give up!" as i fired away at the Balrog. Suddenly I was overcame with a dark power. I couldn't feel myself. Dark flames spread all over and engulfed my body. I finally came to and I had dark angel wings and a dark energy over my arm. I flew towards the Balrog and attacked with my new dark powers. I landed a few heavy punches into its stomach and a roundhouse kick into its head. The Balrog flew back and crushed the cathedral doors.

"Now is your time to die. Tell them once you get to the afterlife that the Harbinger of Doom sent you. Ciao." I fired a massive discharge of dark energy at the Balrog and utterly eradicated it, along with the doors. Now it was time for the final fight against Fangblade and his minions.

anyways, how would a jr. balrog be that difficult? in real maple the only monster that might take hours for 8 experienced members of their class is zakum or horntail.
